Innovation Proyect: Smart Bag

About our Innovation Proyect

Main Problem

The moment an archaeological artifact is discovered is critical. From the moment it is unearthed until it arrives at the laboratory for study and conservation, it must be kept in appropriate conditions. Without proper environmental control during this process, irreversible deterioration and loss of historical information can occur.

The SmartBag Tracker

When we presented our prototype at our national competition, a judge asked us a really silly but important question: What happens when the archeologist has to go home? Do they bring the SmartBag with them?

And that's how we came up with the idea of creating an app so the archeologist can monitor the condition of artifacts in real time. We loved that idea, so right after the competition we met with several archeologists to understand if this would be useful for them.

How did we developed the SmartBag Tracker

To develop this app, we worked with IA as a learning tool to help us program and connect the app to the SmartBag.

The app stores a record of the environmental conditions over time, so archaeologists can analyze what happened to the artifact during transport or storage. You can download the app from the playstore.
